Sometimes when trying new things you have to go with the pancake method and realize the first try is going to be a bit wonky and may need to be tossed out. Epoxy failed to bond wood to metal twice, super glue failed, and then wood snapped when trying to force back on to core. My guess is the different expansion and compression rates of the 2 materials.
